Noel Haverty (born February 24, 1989 in Kildare, Ireland) is an Irish footballer who plays as a defender for Longford Town.
A product of St. Patrick's Athletic's youth system, Haverty accelerated through the ranks at the club as a schoolboy making his Under 21 debut while still part of Pats Under 16 squad. His rapid development caught the attention of the Irish International youth set up as he won Republic of Ireland caps at Under 17, 18 and 19 levels between 2006 and 2007.[1]
In order to gain vital senior experience, Haverty was sent out on loan by St. Patrick's Athletic to Shelbourne in July 2007 while still aged 18. He made his Shelbourne and League of Ireland debut during a First Division fixture for Shelbourne against Limerick 37 at Tolka Park on 1 September 2007.[2] Haverty made 8 first team appearances during the 2007 Season for Shelbourne before his loan spell ended at the end of the 2007 season.
Haverty returned to Pats for the 2008 season and despite intense competition in a strong squad he made 7 first team appearances for the club that season. Over the course of the 2009 and 2010 season he made a further 24 appearances while he converted from a midfielder to a defender before his release by St. Patrick's Athletic at the end of the 2010 season. On 14 December 2010 Haverty signed for Shelbourne[3] but 2 weeks prior to the new season Shelbourne announced that Haverty would not be joining the club.[4]
Haverty signed for Longford Town in December 2011.
